WHAT IS THE HEART CHAKRA?
In this week’s chakra series installment, we are focusing on the fourth chakra, the heart chakra. Your heart chakra is located just near your heart in the center of your chest, and its associated color is green (not red!). Heart chakra blockages can leave you feeling emotionally closed off. You may find it hard to give and receive love, and you may have feelings of anger, fear, jealousy, or hatred. If these sound like issues you’ve been dealing with, try one of these methods below to let the heart flow.
HOW DO I UNBLOCK MY HEART CHAKRA?
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
Practicing a random act of kindness is a great way to get in tune with your heart chakra. Want a fun way to be kind to others? Try this Random Act of Kindness bingo. Leave a comment once you get bingo!

PRACTICE GRATITUDE
It may sound silly, but with practice, you train yourself to be more grateful. A simple way to start a gratitude practice is to keep a gratitude journal or list. Each day, write down three things that you feel grateful for. When you’re feeling down, look back over all the things that you have to be grateful for in your life and use them as reminders that there are better days to come.
SOUND & MUSIC
The seed sound for the heart chakra is yam. Try chanting this sound, aloud or silently, to connect to your heart chakra. Try this heart chakra playlist on Spotify for inspiration. While you listen, imagine the color green for an added bonus.
JOURNALING
If you haven’t noticed, journaling is one of the most effective ways to handle a chakra blockage or imbalance. Try these heart chakra journal prompts. If journaling is uncomfortable, consider allowing these prompts to guide your daily meditation. You could always ponder the thoughts and answer them to yourself!
